SUMMER ACTIVITIES

SUMMER ACTIVITIES Warm days, cool nights and extra long days provide ample opportunity for every recreationist. The High Country is all about the outdoors. Here are a few activities that everyone who visits Dubois needs to take in: Hiking, Backpacking, Horseback Riding, Fishing, Live Music, Square Dancing, Golfing, ATV Adventures, Photography and many more. Below are a few of our favorites.

FishingFISHING For the Anglers a variety of Rivers, Mountain Lakes and Blue Ribbon fishing streams await them. Six species of trout make their homes in the waters around Dubois which include the hungry Cutthroat, Rainbowa, Brown Trout, Brook Trout, Golden Trout, and Lake Trout. Whether you're a boat fisherman or a seasoned Fly Fisherman the opportunities in the area offer a little for everyone. The fisheries in and around dubois are probably some of the most underrated in the country.

Horseback RidingHORSEBACKING If your family or friends dream of taking a horseback trip, Dubois' various terrain is the perfect place to make your dreams come true. Hourly, 1/2 day, whole day and multiple day trips are available to the Badlands or secluded forest and Wilderness areas. With mountain bred horses being extremely trust worthy and gentle even the most inexperienced rider can navigatetheir way to view many of the wonders of Wyoming, including wildlife, waterfalls, glaciers and numerous other mountain beauties.

ATV adverturingADVENTURING From the High Plains to the High Mountain Peaks there are thousands of acres of multiple use lands to recreate and explore. The Shoshone Forest lies to the North and the Bridger Teton to the South and West. Access to this pristine wild country is done from cars on the more improved roads and trucks, ATV's, horseback and from a foot on the more rugged roads and trails. Try one or all of the different self guided tours of the backcountry and learn about the History of the area.

WINTER & FALL ACTIVITIES

WINTER ACTIVITIES in Dubois, Wyoming are abundant after the snow starts to fly in October. Common Recreation consists of Snowmobiling, Hunting, Cross Country Skiing, Ice Fishing, Dog Sledding, Snowshoeing, Wildlife Watching and Photography.

Snowmobiling in the Dubois AreaSNOWMOBILING The Dubois area consists of the CDST system which stretches from Lander, Wyoming to Yellowstone Park. The trail system consists of 35 distinctive trails and has a whopping 675 total miles, reaching elevations as high as 11,000 feet. Even though the trail system is extensive to help you navigate from one area to the next, the off trail riding and mountain climbing are limitless which is why the CDST trail system is ranked #2 in the west.

Bighorn SheepWILDLIFE WATCHING Perhaps no where else in the country can a person have an opportunity of seeing such a wide Variety of wildlife. famous for having one of the Largest Concentrations of Bighorn sheep in the Whiskey Basin Habitat, this is only the tip of the iceburg which one could encounter. Moose, Elk, Muledeer, White-tailed Deer, bears, Coyotes, Birds of Prey and even the Natorious Grey Wolf inhabit the dubois Area and can be seen with a little luck.
